The Rhythmic Unity workshops and classes use drumming and percussion rhythms to help participants enhance their teamwork, creativity and self expression skills.
Rhythmic Unity is a World Music Group providing workshops and educational programmes for children, teenagers, adults, teachers and people with special educational needs. Through teaching rhythms and musical awareness on hand drums and percussion we promote self-expression, teamwork and creativity.
Our rhythms use a blend of West African, Afro-Cuban, Native American and Celtic beats. These are taught on the Djembe, Bougarabou, DounDoun, Kenkeni and Sangban drums and also using hand percussion including the Shekere Shaker, Caxixi woven rattles and Agogo Bells.
Our programmes and workshops are designed to give a fun and challenging educational experience. With emphasis on creating an accepting environment for musicians of all levels to play together, we can enhance students’ self-esteem leading to a sense of achievement and improved coordination and concentration.
